Player of the Week
Alex Lorenc (Nanuet, N.Y.), Senior, Outfielder, Saint Joseph's College (ME)
Lorenc saw his season batting average jump over 70 points by hitting .650 (13-20) with three runs, three doubles, a triple, six RBI and three stolen bases in seven contests last week. The senior right fielder posted five multiple-hit efforts during the week and was a combined 6-7 with a run, a double and a pair of RBI in a GNAC split with Suffolk University on Saturday.
Pitcher of the Week
Joe Gruntkosky (Peabody, Mass.), Senior, RHP, Saint Joseph's College (ME)
Gruntkosky delivered his best pitching performance of the season when Saint Joseph's needed it the most, tossing a three-hitter with no walks and eight strikeouts in an important win over Suffolk University on Saturday. No runner advanced past second base in the Monks' victory, which clinched the #2 seed - and opening round bye - in the GNAC Tournament.
LaShawn Thomas (San Antonio, Texas), Freshman, Outfielder, Norwich University
LaShawn batted .714 on the week with two doubles, one RBI and six stolen bases. He pushed his league-leading batting average to .397 and didn't record a single strikeout in four games played. He finished the week with three three-hit games to his credit.
