Player of the Week
John Sullivan (Southbury, Conn.), Senior, Catcher, Anna Maria College
Sullivan batted a robust .409 over an 8-game Florida span for the AMCATS. The senior collected nine hits, including a pair of doubles, a triple and a home run with .727 slugging percentage. Sullivan had 8 RBI's, drew five walks and swiped three bases on the week. In the field he had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 30 putouts, four assists and threw out 3-of-6 runners attempting to steal.
Pitcher of the Week
Andrew Sawyer (Dracut, Mass.), Freshman, Pitcher, Anna Maria College
Sawyer pitched the AMCATS to two wins over a seven day span in Spring Break action in Florida last week. The hurler, in twelve innings on the mound, allowed no earned runs, while surrendering just 10 hits with seven strikeouts. After working five innings vs. Cazenovia to notch his first collegiate win the first year player pitched a 3-0 shutout vs. Mount Saint Joseph. Sawyer scattered six hits and had six strikeouts in the seven inning complete game to improve to 2-0 with a .000 ERA.
Carlos Sanabria (Pawtucket, R.I.), Freshman, OF, Johnson & Wales University
Hit .500 on the week with three runs and four RBI as he helped JWU to a perfect 3-0 week to remain undefeated on the season at 8-0. Went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI in the 4-1 win over Mass. Maritime and went 2-for-2 with two RBI, including a walk-off single in the seventh in the 3-2 victory against Thomas.
