Moran Adds ECAC Accolade to List of Postseason Honors

Saint Joseph’s College junior pitcher/outfielder Pat Moran (Winterport, ME/Hampden Academy) has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Star Second Team as a utility player.

Moran, a GNAC First Team honoree as both a pitcher and outfielder, was named the GNAC Player and Pitcher of the Year, received All-New England First Team honors from the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association, and was a D3Baseball.com All-American Honorable Mention selection.

Moran, in his second year at St. Joe’s after transferring from the University of Maine, hit .411 (46-112) and led the conference in home runs (11) and slugging percentage (.813) in 2009. On the mound, the right-hander fanned a league high 75 batters in 62 2/3 innings, against just six walks, with an 8-1 record to go with a 3.88 earned run average and a pair of saves. His miniscule 0.86 walks per nine innings ratio ranks fourth in all of NCAA DIII Baseball.

Saint Joseph’s went 31-13 overall and 13-1 in conference play in 2009 en route to capturing the program’s first GNAC regular season title.
