BOSTON, Mass. – On June 14 the New England Division III Commissioners Association (NEDIIICA) is set to host the NCAA New England Conference Rules Seminar at Worcester State University.  The NEDIIICA is comprised of the commissioners/executive directors of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Little East Conference (LEC), the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC), the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and the North Atlantic Conference (NAC).

The NEDIIICA held a regional rules session in 2012 as part of a pilot program from the NCAA and the group is excited about the opportunity to host again in 2017.

"Anytime the NEWMAC can bring this type of programming to its membership we will do so," says NEWMAC Executive Director Patrick B. Summers. "The NEDIIICA has made it a focus and a priority to partner together to host educational programs in our region and we are thankful for the NCAA and the Division III staff for providing us this opportunity. We are also fortunate that the sponsors of this event have come to support this event as we couldn't do it without them."

The sessions on the docket include NCAA bylaws that are geared towards administrators, coaches and sports information directors. There are over 400 participants that will be in attendance coming from 80 Division III institutions in New England.

"The Regional Rules Seminar is a win-win for all involved," said GNAC CommissionerJoe Walsh. "Schools get to send more staff members and they save both money and time because flights are not involved. The NCAA wins because several coaches from the same institution receive invaluable rule education in just one day. It is truly a terrific initiative and we are grateful to the Division III staff for making this opportunity available to our New England region."

The GNAC expects to have nearly 40 administrators on hand at the event next week. More information can be found on the New England Regional Rules Homepage

The NEDIIICA would like to take the opportunity to thank the five sponsors of the New England Regional Rules Seminar, All Worldwide Travel, AMI Graphics, Championship Award-Guys, Learfield Licensing Partners, LLC, and Spelman Johnson, who without their support the event would not be possible.

Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 12 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Each year, the GNAC sponsors and administers 17 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunities and community involvement.
