Norwich Men's Basketball's Ryan Booth Named To National SAAC Committee

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INDIANAPOLIS – Junior Ryan Booth (Northfield, Vt.) of the Norwich University men's basketball team has been selected to the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Booth will serve a two-year appointment to the national committee.

Booth will join Division III student-athletes around the nation, representing their voice in the NCAA's governance structure by reviewing legislation, identifying significant student-athlete issues, implementing national student-athlete based initiatives and encouraging community outreach.

Additionally, the committee's efforts will enhance student-athlete involvement and understanding of what being an NCAA Division III athlete stands for. Furthermore, the committee is primarily responsible for maintaining and coordinating the division's nationwide partnership with Special Olympics.

The committee will meet in-person four times each year in January, April, July and November, conducting teleconferences as needed.

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) will hold its 2017 SAAC Leadership Forum on March 26, 2017 in Boston, Mass.

Booth is currently averaging a career-best 12.4 points per game in 16 games played (all starts) this season. He started 23 of 25 games a year ago for the Cadets and averaged 10.6 points and 5.4 rebounds.
