ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Rebecca Mullen has been named the first-ever full-time Assistant Commissioner at the New England Collegiate Conference, as announced by Commissioner Del Malloy.
For the past nine months, Mullen has worked as the Assistant to the Commissioner for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference through the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s Grant. At the GNAC she assisted with player of the week reports, championships, SAAC Events, among other things. Prior to her work as the Assistant to the Commissioner, Mullen was the Special Events Specialist for the conference. In this role she worked to plan the Professional Development Seminar for the conference as well as a conference wide community service event.
“I am excited for the new opportunity to join the NECC,” said Mullen. “Commissioner Malloy has been a great asset to the NECC and I look forward to working with him as the conference continues to grow.”

Mullen brings a wealth of experience within Division III both from her athletic experience and her work at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference."
Mullen will be responsible for the maintaining and updating of the NECC website, the SAAC workshops, Championships, as well as all communication for the conference.
A Peabody, Mass. native, Mullen, 24, graduated from Worcester State University in 2013 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Urban Studies. At Worcester State, Mullen was the Vice President of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee for two years. While in this position she was able to plan many events including a Special Olympics Basketball tournament.
Athletically Mullen was a four year member of the Field Hockey team and a two year member of the Women’s Lacrosse team. Sophomore year the Worcester State Field Hockey Team was honored for having the highest grade point average of all Division III institutions. After college Mullen was invited to play for with USA International Athletes in a Friendship Series for Field Hockey in Scotland.
