GNAC Well Represented at CoSIDA Convention

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference was well represented at this week's College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Convention taking place in Orlando, Fla. Four members from the conference office made the trip for the professional development opportunity, proudly representing the GNAC throughout the week.

Representing the GNAC were Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Michael Ghika, Assistant to the Commissioner Doug Chin, Sports Information Specialist Jackie Murray and incumbent Assistant Commissioner/Director of Media Relations Dan Campagna.

"The CoSIDA Convention is a great opportunity to learn and grow professionally among our peers in the field," said Chin. "Getting to sit in on lectures from leaders in our industry was a very positive experience and I'm thankful for the chance to attend."

The week-long convention was in conjunction with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention taking place at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

"I'm very fortunate for the opportunity to attend the convention," said Murray. "This week has been a great networking opportunity for me professionally and I've been able to learn a ton about topics that relate to my interests professionally. Without the GNAC's support, I wouldn't have been able to attend so I'm proud to be here representing such a great conference that supports the professional growth of its former student-athletes."

Over the week, the convention offered different workshops and lectures from topics regarding a healthy work-life balance, to statcrew trainings, to motivating your staff, to managing a successful event.

"This was my second CoSIDA convention and I'm confident it won't be my last," said Campagna. "It's a great chance for anyone on Sports Information to come and learn. Doesn't matter if it's your first or 21st year in the industry because its a collaborative learning environment where there is something for everyone."
