Dana Bean Becomes 20th Member of 1000-Point Club in Win at Anna Maria

PAXTON, Mass. - January 12, 2019 - Colby-Sawyer junior Dana Bean (Franklin, N.H.) became the program's 20th player to reach 1000 career points and helped the Chargers earn an 86-80 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road win at Anna Maria. 

Bean led all players with 22 points on an impressive 11-of-13 field goal attempts. Needing just five points to reach 1000, Bean made his first three shots of the game and got the milestone point at the 11:09 mark in the first half. Bean now sits at 1017 points. He added eight rebounds. 

Colby-Sawyer improves to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in the GNAC. The Chargers will host Regis on Thursday at 7 p.m. Anna Maria falls to 5-11 overall and 1-2 in the conference. 

Senior Jourdain Bell (Manchester, N.H.) added 18 points, six rebounds and five assists. He was 4-of-7 from beyond the arc to move into a tie for ninth in career makes with 160. Junior Patrick Coffey (Westford, Mass.) went 6-of-8 from the floor to finish with 17 points, while sophomore Jake Carrier (Manchester, N.H.) contributed 11 points in 14 minutes off the bench. Sophomore KJ Synvrit (Miami, Fla.) registered 10 points and eight rebounds. 

Anna Maria was led by Mike Rapoza's double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds. Bobby Perette was second on the team with 13 points. Ralph Grasso Jr. and Anthony Buckley added 12 points apiece. Kennedy Minix-Rogers had 10 assists for the AMCATS. 

Both teams shot the ball well and each side made six three-pointers. The difference on the scoreboard was two more field goals and two extra free throws for Colby-Sawyer to give the Chargers a 46-40 lead at the break.  

Each team scored 40 points in the second half, but the Chargers offensive efficiency throughout the game carried the team to the victory.  

Colby-Sawyer shot the ball well from the floor at 55.7% and was 43.5% from beyond the arc. Anna Maria made 41.2% from the field and 25.7% from long range.
