NEW HAVEN, Conn. - October 19, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team lost at Albertus Magnus, 5-2, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest Saturday afternoon.
Albertus Magnus improves to 8-6-1 overall and 5-3 in the GNAC. Colby-Sawyer falls to 4-8-3 overall and 4-4 in the conference. The Chargers host Saint Joseph's on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.
The Falcons struck for a pair of goals in the first half from Abdoul Aremu and Salah Oumorou to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
Oumorou opened the scoring two minutes in the second half, with his second of the contest, to put the home team on top 3-0. Michael Hidalgo and Kevin Morataya later scored to put Albertus in front 5-0.
The Chargers got on the board in the 83rd minute with junior
Ethan Sweet's (Cornish, N.H.) second goal of the season.
Colby-Sawyer added a second goal in the 87th minute on a free kick. Sophomore
Couper Gunn (Easthampton, Mass.) sent the ball towards the box where first-year
Nico Adornetto (Sanford, Maine) knocked in his first collegiate goal.
Garfield Robinson allowed two goals and finished with three saves for the Falcons. Colby-Sawyer's
Lucas Boetsch (Rockport, Maine) took the loss with four goals allowed and made two saves in 61:22. Senior
Jarod Parkins (North Kingstown, R.I.) played the final 28:38 and allowed one goal with two saves.
