MCLA falls to Albertus Magnus 2-0 in Women's Soccer

North Adams, MA- The visiting Albertus Magnus Falcons used two first half goals to lift them past the MCLA Trailblazers Women's Soccer team 2-0 this afternoon at Shewcraft Field.  The Falcons earned their first win of the season evening their mark at 1-1.  The Trailblazers fall to 0-1-1.

Albertus controlled the opening half outshooting the Trailblazers 10-1.  They opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Becky Slivinsky slammed home a cross from Danielle Polvan for the early advantage.  The Falcons would add to the lead just six minutes later when Liziana Silva knocked home a Taylor Jagoe feed for a 2-0 edge. 

MCLA couldn't muster much on offense in the first half but did have a great chance when Justine Cozza slipped a shot past Falcon keeper Maria Case, however it went just wide and the lead stood at 2-0 at halftime.

The Trailblazers had a great chance to get back in the game early in the second half when Cayla Mole ripped a shot that went just wide.  MCLA couldn't muster up much offense for the remainder of the match.

Maria Case earned the win in goal for Albertus stopping the only two shots she saw.  Katy Daly absorbed the loss for MCLA collecting a pair of saves herself.

Albertus held a 16-4 shot advantage over the Trailblazers on the afternoon.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday when they host Smith as part of the CIAO Classic at 4:30pm.
