Women's Lacrosse Drops GNAC Game at Regis, 13-8

WESTON, Mass. - April 13, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer women's lacrosse team suffered a 13-8 defeat at Regis College, in Great Northaest Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon. 

Regis improves to 12-1 overall and remains one of two unbeaten teams in the GNAC standings at 9-0. Colby-Sawyer drops to 9-4 overall and 7-3 in conference play. The Chargers will play a non-conference game at Nichols on Wednesday. 

The Pride were led by Kerri Anselmo's eight points. She registered four goals and four assists. Alyssa Kelly scored five times to go with six draws and five ground balls. 

Colby-Sawyer was led by Sarah Morin's (Pelham, N.H.) three goals and an assist. Sophomore Jess Tattersall (Keene, N.H.) contributed two goals and an assist. Sophomore Jaime Wood (Waterford, Vt.) posted six ground balls and four caused turnovers, while senior Sierra Schuster (Hopkinton, N.H.) added six ground balls and three caused turnovers. 

Regis created separation in the first half by outscoring the Chargers 9-2. Colby-Sawyer closed the gap in the second half with a 6-4 goal advantage, but the Pride protected home field on senior day to earn the 13-8 victory.

Kailyn Lapham (Medway, Mass.) finished with eight saves for Colby-Sawyer in the loss. Regis goalie Brittany McPherson had 15 saves to earn the victory.
