WATERVILLE, Maine - January 5, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team dropped a non-league game to Thomas College, 87-78, on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer drops to 6-6 and will begin Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at home on Tuesday against the University of Saint Joseph, which is coached by Jim Calhoun. Thomas improves to 5-8.
Evan Arsenault led four Thomas players in double figures with 17 points. Zach Mackinnon and Lovegeurson Fleurine scored 16 points apiece. Demetris Webster added 15 points.
Colby-Sawyer was led by junior
Patrick Coffey (Westford, Mass.) scored a team best 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting. Junior
Dana Bean (Franklin, N.H.) notched his fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Senior
Jourdain Bell (Manchester, N.H.) and first-year
Nick Backer (Tamarac, Fla.) chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Thomas made 11 three-pointers on the day to Colby-Sawyer's five. The Terriers also held a slim edge in rebounding, 44-41.
