Ferris fans 12 in debut, Bison blank Rivier 7-0

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Freshman AlexIS Ferris (Holyoke, Mass.) fanned 12 batters to backstop the Nichols College softball team to a 7-0 shutout victory over Rivier Friday morning in non-conference action at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic at the CenturyLink Sports Complex.

Freshman Taylor McIntosh (West Babylon, N.Y.) had two hits and two RBI in her collegiate debut while sophomore Callie Andrews (Southbridge, Mass.) also had a pair of hits. Ferris, meanwhile, surrendered just two hits and walked two over seven.
