NASHUA, N.H. - March 23, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer women's lacrosse team cruised to a 15-4 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road win at Rivier on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 3-2 overall and in the GNAC. The Chargers will step out of conference action to host Husson on Monday at 3 p.m. Rivier falls to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the GNAC.
The Chargers were led by a 6-goal effort from
Briana Couture. She added one assist and a pair of caused turnovers.
Brittany Ireland finished with seven points on three goals and four assists. She also had a game-best six ground balls. Ireland moved into seventh in career assists with 42.
Sierra Schuster posted four goals and an assist, while
Sarah Morin added two goals.
Mattie Iaria had four caused turnovers.
Amanda Barton scored twice and picked up four ground balls to lead the Raiders. Marin Owens and Ashley Leal added a goal apiece. Leal added four ground balls, while Owens collected six draw controls.
Maddie Langdon notched her first collegiate victory in goal for the Chargers. She made nine saves. Courtney Laperriere took the loss, but made 20 stops for Rivier.
The Chargers led from the opening draw after
Briana Couture scored three-straight goals to begin the game. Colby-Sawyer led 6-3 at the half and then outscored the Raiders 9-1 in the second. The Chargers had a 43-16 advantage in shots for the game.
