GNAC Marketing & Multimedia Specialist Internship

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is currently accepting applications for a Marketing & Multimedia Specialist with the conference office for the 2021-22 academic year. This position includes a $2,500 stipend provided through the NCAA Division III Diversity grant funding program. The grant recipient will mainly work assisting with developing creative GNAC graphics and social media campaigns. 

Applicants MUST BE a current undergraduate ethnic minority and/or female student from one of the GNAC's 14 institutions. Interested candidates with a sincere desire to work within college athletics in the future are encouraged to apply.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and graphic design
● Video editing background and knowledge preferred
● Ability to complete task-based responsibilities remotely
● Strong fluency with social media platforms, mainly Instagram
● Strong fluency with Google Drive file sharing and Microsoft Office programs
● Experience working for college athletics dept. or in marketing/multimedia a plus
● Must be an undergrad student working towards obtaining a bachelor's degree 
● Must value attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines

Work Environment:​ ​This position requires the ability to work remotely as assigned (no sitting around the GNAC office). Interaction and involvement with members of the GNAC SAAC Commissioner's Council for content opportunity will be necessary. Limited travel opportunities, with mileage reimbursement, for conference meetings and/or championship events are also available. 

Duration​ ​of​ ​Part-Time​ ​Internship:​ ​It would begin in the fall season and run through early May, with accommodation to academic credit requirements if also used as an internship-for-credit.

Responsibilities:​ ​The GNAC Marketing & Multimedia Specialist will assist the GNAC conference office staff. Under the direct supervision of GNAC Assistant Commissioner Michael Ghika, this intern will assist with the promotion of the GNAC and its 3,500+ student-athletes by helping develop social media engagement strategy while creating specialized and targeted campaigns. The GNAC office would also welcome new ideas from this intern in an effort to achieve creative content.

Network: This opportunity helps open the door to grow your professional network with athletic directors, sports information directors, coaches, and other administrators from all 14 GNAC member institutions.

Job​ ​Description:​ ​The GNAC seeks a highly motivated currently enrolled undergraduate students who are interested in gaining experience in multimedia athletic communications, sports marketing, social media, graphic design, strategic planning, and athletic administration. Students with strong written, verbal, and social media communication skills, and are dependable and can easily work independently are encouraged to apply. The GNAC will use NCAA diversity grant funding to create this part-time paid internship position to provide a woman and/or ethnic minority with opportunities for creativity and growth within the ever-evolving landscape of college athletics. This internship aspires to honor the efforts of the Division III Diversity and Inclusion Working Group by increasing ethnic and racial diversity and gender equity in college sports hiring practices. This position will enhance the foundation of a diverse and inclusive culture within the Division III conference office environment.

The​ ​Student​ ​Specialist​ ​will​ ​assist​ ​with:
● Promotion of the conference across its 22 NCAA Division III championships 
● Social media, videography, photography for various GNAC Championships and SAAC events
● Creating unique material for the www.thegnac.com website and our social media outlets
● Possible event planning responsibilities
● Other duties as assigned
