Lasell's Kelsey Hagan Hired as GNAC Marketing Specialist on Division III Grant

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Position made possible through
NCAA Division III Diversity Funding

WINTHROP, Mass. – Kelsey Hagan, a Lasell College senior sport management student, has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Sports Marketing & Multimedia Content Specialist, as announced on Thursday afternoon. She will work as part of the GNAC staff for the remainder of the 2017-18 academic year.

The position is made possible through the NCAA Division III Diversity Funding for conference offices, which was approved in March 2016, as the GNAC continues its efforts to support diversity and inclusion by providing professional opportunities within the college athletics industry. Last spring, Saint Joseph's College of Maine junior student-athlete Sarah Comtois was hired as a GNAC intern on the same grant initiative.

Hagan, a native to Narragansett, R.I., boasts an impressive resume. She began working as a social media specialist with the East Coast Wizards organization as an intern with the Girl's Junior Hockey program. From there, she went on to work with the Eastern Women's Hockey Conference, a junior women's hockey league dedicated to the development of female hockey players between the ages of 14-19, where she held the title of Director of Communications.

This past January, Hagan started working for the Lasell athletics department as a graphic designer, and has also worked as part of the Lasers' gameday staff since 2015. The senior is also a Resident Assistant (RA) on campus at Lasell.

Hagan will work with GNAC Assistant to the Commissioner Annie Jenkins and GNAC Asst. Commissioner Michael Ghika with the conference's social media and graphic design efforts. She will also serve in an administrative role at upcoming GNAC Championships and other events.

Some of her duties at the Eastern Women's Hockey Conference office include managing league events such as playoffs and showcase tournaments, managing media outlets and the league website, collaborating with editors from USA Junior Hockey Magazine, and communicating with team and league officials on a regular basis regarding scheduling, news, and other league matters.

In her spare time, Hagan enjoys skiing and boating as well as playing volleyball and hockey.

Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 13 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Each year, the GNAC sponsors and administers 20 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunities and community involvement.
